Almost every customer asks for a responsive website. The last months we have build several responsive websites/skins. The DNN Core provides Bootstrap 2.3.2 so we build the skins based on this version.

For future projects we like to use Bootstrap 3, Bootstrap 3 is not backwards compatible with v2.x. so we hoped it will be integrated in the DNN core. Does anyone know when? Or does anyone use Bootstrap 3 in DNN?

Suggestion: Maybe it's possible to make a Bootsnip for DNN?

    Thanx!

      Hi Willem,

We have successfully created a skin or 2 with the new bootstrap 3.1.1 with a slide out menu from the left.

We are in the middle of creating the site and when its finished I want to write a small blog about how to create a slide-out menu for mobile instead of the messy drop-down option in Bootstrap.

Chris Hammond has also created an open source bootstrap skin you can find here:

This is based on bootstrap 3.0.2 nd is a good starting point for skining in v3.

You can use any front-end framework, I have used Bootstrap 2.x and 3.x, Foundation and have created html 5 boilerplate skinning set. All depends what works for you and your projects.

Thanks! That will help us create a default template for our responsive skins based on Bootstrap 3
